Andrew’s Journey
From Singapore to the Mountains — Building a Pathway for Real Progress
A journey shaped by structured learning, real experience, and a belief that great riders are built through progression, not shortcuts.
My Snowboard and Ski Journey
Early Foundations — Discovering Snow Sports
I was introduced to skiing at a young age, spending many December holidays in winter environments across Europe and Canada. These early experiences built my foundation and familiarity with the mountains, shaping my initial understanding of movement and terrain.
Rediscovery (2011–2015)
After years focused on career and family, I returned to snowboarding during a trip to Niseko. That experience reignited my passion — not just for riding, but for understanding how skills are developed and improved over time.
Building the Foundation (2015–2018)
When I began coaching, I quickly realised there was no structured system designed for riders training on indoor slopes and transitioning to real mountains.
I spent years studying international teaching frameworks, refining my understanding of movement, and developing my own progression system. This system was tested and refined with hundreds of students — consistently producing stronger fundamentals and faster improvement.
Refinement & Mastery (2018-2026)
From 2018 onwards, my focus shifted from building the system to refining it through real-world application. Coaching thousands of hours across indoor slopes and mountain environments allowed me to continuously test, adjust, and improve how riders learn and progress.
Through multiple winter seasons in Japan, I worked with riders of all levels — from first-time snowboarders to advanced riders working on carving and technical control. This experience deepened my understanding of how movement patterns translate across different terrains, snow conditions, and skill levels.
During this period, I continued advancing my own riding and teaching through international certification pathways. This includes achieving CASI Level 2, Park certification, Carving specialisation, and completing the Level 3 Instructor Training Module — operating at an advanced instructor level.
More importantly, these years reinforced what makes my coaching different — a focus on identifying root causes, building structured progression, and helping riders develop skills that transfer from indoor training to real mountain performance.
The result is a coaching system that consistently helps students improve faster, ride with more confidence, and retain their skills beyond a single trip.
